Through a $50,000 grant provided by the state of Alabama, Muskogee Metalworks employees are training to be more efficient and learning how to create even better products at great costs.
Gov. Bob Riley awarded the grant to Muskogee Metalworks to allow employees to learn new skills.
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) provides the Incumbent Worker Training Program, which assists employees in Alabama improve their skills.
Muskogee Metalworks is a part of Creek Indian Enterprises that manufactures metal, electronics, warehousing and engineering. The company’s efforts go to aerospace and defense industries.
The training Muskogee Metalworks employees are involved in began on Sept. 15 and is scheduled for approximately six more months, according to the release. The Alabama Technology Network of Auburn provides the training as part of the 2007 Boeing Supplier Initiative.
McGhee said practically every employee at Muskogee Metalworks is receiving training in different areas.
The funds were made available to the state through the U.S. Department of Labor and ADECA administers the award.
