A Monday afternoon accident on Hwy. 97 south of Tungoil Road claimed the life of a man and child, according to a family member.
The man and his 2-year-old son were killed while traveling in a pick-up truck following a collision with another truck. The accident, which occurred just before 3 p.m., was still under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol at 5 p.m.
Life Flight transported the driver of the second vehicle, described at the scene as an older woman, to Baptist Hospital.
The identities of the victims will be released as soon as FHP officials complete their investigation.
