Students should take advantage of scholarship
This week the Advance received the following information from the Atmore Rotary Club:
Scholarship application packets are available at local high schools; students should contact their high school counselor for an application. All applications must be completed and postmarked by April 11, 2008, and must be returned with statement of finances, essay, official high school transcript and two teacher recommendations. The scholarship winner will be announced at the Atmore Rotary Club's Academic All-Star Reception on May 8, 2008.”
With the scholarship the Rotary Club is offering, a local high school student could have the opportunity to go to a university he or she would have otherwise looked over, thinking they could not afford it.
The Advance staff thinks it is great that the Rotary Club is offering this scholarship and we encourage high school students who qualify to apply because you never know what could happen! This could be the opportunity you were looking for that can take you places you never dreamed of!
So, students, go by your school’s office and find out how to apply for the Randolph E. Luttrell Sr. Rotary Club Memorial Scholarship. The least you can do is try!
