Ray Wiggins
LILLIAN – Ray Wiggins, 81, of Lillian passed away April 6, 2008.
He was the first child born to Preston and Grace Wiggins of Bratt, Fla. Ray was a veteran of WWII. He retired from civil service at the Pensacola Naval Sir Station and spent many years as a local building contractor. Ray was a founding member of Optimist Club of Lillian, a charter member and past member of the Lillian Masonic Lodge No. 925 and also a member of Hadji Shrine Temple in Pensacola.
His parents; his brother, Leonard Wiggins and his daughter-in-law, Mickey Wiggins preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his wife of 62 years, Ellie Wiggins; two sons, Ricky (Becky) Wiggins and Lamar Wiggins; two grandchildren, Curtis Wiggins and Carla Gilmore (Jacob); a brother, Lee Roy Wiggins and two sisters, Clydell Tinsdale and Willneila Henderson.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with funeral services to begin at 11 a.m. with Dr. Charles Register officiating. Private interment will occur at Oak Hill cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 815 Market St., Galveston, Texas 77550.

Aaron Rodgers
ATMORE – US Air Force Ret MSGT Aaron Rodgers, 87, of Atmore died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at University Hills Rehab and Care Center in Pensacola, Fla.
He was a native of Columbus, Ga. where he attended school. Upon completion of school Mr. Rodgers enlisted into the military service in 1943 with the United States Army Air Corps, the predecessor to the U.S. Air Force. He served over 23 years retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant and stationed at various places across the world, most notably in Germany and France. He was the recipient of numerous letters of appreciation and merit service awards, including the Air Force Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal and the European/African/Middle Eastern Service Medal. After retiring from the Air Force Mr. Rodgers returned to Atmore and was employed by Masland Carpet Co. as a security guard for over 20 years. He was a member of the Atmore Chamber of Commerce and the Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church where he served as a trustee.
His parents, Frank and Priscilla Rodgers and his wife, Ercell McGhee Rodgers preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, four sons, Bill Reaves of Glendale, Ariz., David Ephraim Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., Andrew Rodgers of Jacksonville, Ark. and Scottie Rodgers of West New York, N.J.; two daughters, Roslanda (Michael) Henderson and Mechelle (Larry) Forney all of Atmore; four grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Public viewing will be held from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore with the Rev. Joe L. Hayes, officiating. Interment with military rites will be held in Stallworth cemetery.

Ted Luverne Fretwell
URIAH – Ted Luverne Fretwell, 78, of Uriah died Sunday, April 6, 2008 at his residence.
He was a retired bookkeeper born in Perdido on Aug. 18, 1929 to the late Henry and Ethel May Fretwell. He was an Army veteran. Two sons, Paul Ray Fretwell and Jeffery Ted Fretwell; one sister, Ailene Pettis and one brother, George Fretwell preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Betty Fretwell of Uriah; one daughter, Shelley F. Burgess and husband Richard of Booneville; four sisters, Audrey Poston of Ohio, Ruby Stewart of Rabon, Greta Baggett of Gulf Shores and Loyce Strawbridge of Atmore and three grandchildren, Nicholas, Kayley and Bayley Burgess.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Semirah Springs Church in Uriah with the Rev. Grady Palmer and Bro. Harold Hall officiating. Interment followed in the Church cemetery. Active pallbearers were Phil Hollinger, Gary Hollinger, Jarrell Hollinger, Darrell Hollinger, Kevin Woods and Jimmy Woods. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Strawbridge, Ricky Gerald, David Woods, Mike Woods, Charles Woods, Wayne Woods and Donnie Smith. Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Lynwood "Jackie" Sims
ATMORE – Lynwood "Jackie" Sims, 68, of Atmore died Thursday, April 3, 2008 in Mobile.
He was a longtime insurance agent for 17 years, born March 20, 1940 in Century, Fla. to the late James Leonard and Lois Day Sims. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Atmore. He was loved by all of his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include, his wife, Gloria S. Sims of Atmore; one son, Mark D. Sims of Highland, Mich.; one daughter, Daphne L. Cook and husband Jeffery W. of Daphne; three brothers, Larry Sims of Huxford, Jimmy Sims of Spanish Fort and Johnny Smith of Atmore; two sisters, Deborah Rowell of Atmore and Cheryl Snider of Bay Minette; five grandchildren, Katlyn E. Sims, Megan K. Sims, Nathan J. Cook, Alex Cook and Broxton Cook.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008 from the First Presbyterian Church of Atmore with the Rev. Jim Thorpe officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill cemetery. Active pallbearers were Wendell Elcher, James Mason, Scott Sharpless, Greg Sharpless, Levi Smith and Josh Johnson. Family received friends from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church of Atmore.
