Senior first baseman Trent Freeman finished a perfect 4-for-4 at the dish to lead Northview to a 13-2 trouncing over Washington in five innings Saturday on the road.
Freeman smashed a home run and slapped three singles to pace the Chiefs (9-11, 3-3) offensively. Freeman was also credited with four runs and one RBI.
Northview lost to Bayside Academy 10-3 Friday. Saturday’s game against Washington was a makeup game originally scheduled for Feb. 25, but postponed.
Senior Jacob Farish finished the day 3-for-4 with a double, two singles, four runs scored and two RBI.
Brian Lowery and Luke Killam each finished with two singles. Lowery scored two runs and Killam added two RBI.
Health Burkett (2-0) picked up the win on the mound for the Chiefs. He pitched three innings, giving up three hits, one run and one walk. He stuck out three batters.
Northview 9
Washington 6
Northview picked up a home win over Washington 9-6 on April 10.
Scooter Hamilton led the way for the Chiefs legging out a double, slapping a single, driving in two runs and scoring once. Jeff Price added a double, single, an RBI and scored two runs.
Patrick McPherson added a double for Northview. Brad Lowery, Jacob Farish, Matt Walker and T.J. Hadley chipped in with one single each in the game.
Brett Hanks pitched six innings to pick up the win for Northview. He gave up five hits, walked two batters and had four strikeouts.
Last week, the Chiefs suffered three consecutive losses. Milton overcame a six run deficit in the first inning, fueled by a Brad Lowery homer to escape with an 11-9 road win on March 31.
Northview followed that loss up with two road losses. St. Paul’s edged the Chiefs 3-2 and Catholic claimed victory, 9-4.
The Chiefs will travel to Milton Monday for a 6 p.m. game, followed by a road game against Pensacola High School on Tuesday.
Northview will be back at home on Thursday to take on West Florida Tech at 5 p.m.
The Chiefs will compete in the District Tournament on April 22 at Catholic.
