Cal Ripken Baseball kicks off ‘08 season

Ricky Reed slapped two out-of-the-park home runs and accounted for three runs to lead PCI Gold to a 16-6 victory over the Cardinals in Cal Ripken Major League action on April 28.
Bo Ramer also had a big night at the dish going 2-for-3 with a double, single and scored three runs. Drake McGhee added a double and three runs and Baccari Ramer finished the night with a single and two runs.
Caleb Schlegel and Perry Metzler both led the Cardinals with a double and one run.
Warriors 12
PCI Red 1
Aaron McDonald, Brett Helton and Nate Smith combined for four doubles, a single and seven runs to power the Warriors past PCI Red, 12-1, on April 28 in Cal Ripken Major League play.
McDonald led the way with two doubles, a walk and three runs. Helton added a double, single and three runs, while Smith chipped in with a double and one run scored.
Justin Davis scored PCI Red’s lone run.
Tigers 8
Canes 7
The Tigers slid past the Canes 8-7 on April 26 to capture the first win of the season in Cal Ripken Major League action.
Coby Smith led the team going 2-for-3 at the plate with two singles and three runs scored, one after being hit by a pitch. Tanner Smith added a single and two runs and Scott Brantley finished with a single and one run scored.
PCI Gold 3
Rangers 2
In a low-scoring game, PCI Gold was able to pull out a 3-2 win over the Rangers on April 26.
Ricky Reed and Baccari Ramer led the way for PCI Gold with one single each. Tadd Wall, Drake McGhee and Cameron Murphy scored one run each.
Arri Torres legged out a triple to lead the Rangers’ offense.
Warriors 13
Athletics 3
Six players finished the day with a hit for the Warriors to lead the team to a lofty 13-3 victory over the Athletics to start the season on April 26.
Aaron McDonald and Nate Smith both led the Warriors with a double each. McDonald scored two runs and Smith crossed the plate once.
Brodie Amos, Brett Helton, Wesley Jefferson and Dyquan Lee each added a single for the Warriors. Amos and Helton both scored two runs and Jefferson scored one.
Poarch Red 15
Cardinals 6
Justin Davis finished a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate slapping a double, two singles and scoring three runs to lead Poarch Red past the Cardinals, 15-6, on April 26.
Drake Hamilton also finished perfect at the dish going 2-for-2 with two singles, two runs scored, a walk and one hit by pitch.
Danny Crenshaw and David Thorpe led the Cardinals with one single and one run scored each.
