ATMORE - Ms. Mary Rue Parker, 76, of Atmore died Thursday, May 1, 2008 at her residence.
Services will be announced by Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC of Atmore.
Milvie Lee Wilson
ATMORE - Mrs. Milvie Lee Wilson (Fatemmah Muhammad), 85, died Friday, May 2, 2008 at Cogburn Nursing Center in Mobile.
Services will be announced by Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC of Atmore.
Evie Gandy
BAY MINETTE - Mrs. Evie Gandy, 88, a resident of Bay Minette died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Mobile Infirmary Hospital.
Public viewing will be held from 12 noon until the 1 p.m. funeral hour on Tuesday, May 6, 2008.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home of Atmore will be in charge of arrangements.
Jeanelle S. Forte
ATMORE - Mrs. Jeanelle S. Forte, 78, of Atmore died Sunday, April 27, 2008 in Atmore.
Together with her husband, James, they owned and operated Forte Furniture Co. and the Trading Post for over 50 years, born in Moorehead, Miss. on May 24, 1929 to the late Daniel W. and Sallie Weeks Simpson. She was a resident of Atmore most of her life, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore.
Her parents, D.W. and Sallie Simpson; a brother, W.S. Simpson; three sisters, Lucille Johnson, Gertrude Zepernick and Flo Thompson preceded her in death.
Survivors include, her husband of 60 years, James D. Forte of Atmore; two daughters, Sheila F. Morrissey (Michael) of Pace, Fla. and Tressa F. Westmeyer (Jesse) of Atmore; one grandson, John C. Gresham of Navarre, Fla.; one brother, Edward Simpson and one sister, Elyse Webber of Naples, Fla.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Otis Thames officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill cemetery. Active pallbearers were John Gresham, Arthur W. “Sonny” Penningham Jr., Ronald Stanley, Gary Todd, Roger Boutwell and Keith Bryan. Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Shrine Burn Hospital 815 Market Street Galveston, Texas 77550 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.
