A fight with the magnitude of Gettysburg took place on June 10 between the United Bank Warriors and the Rotary Club Tigers.
A game of this magnitude could only mean one thing was taking place, the deciding game of the championship for the Cal Ripken Major City Tournament.
When the contest was over the Warriors would take home the trophy after a 13-9 victory over the Tigers.
The scoring barrage started in the top of the first inning with the Warriors scoring eight of their 13 runs.
Brett Helton led the Warriors with a 2-for-4 outing that included scoring two runs.
Brodie Amos and Hunter Sherouse also notched hits in the game and scored one run apiece.
Dalton Daniels and Nate Smith also helped in scoring for the Warriors, each making it around the base path twice.
Aaron McDaniel, Malcom Black, Eric Robinson, Billy Powell and Wesley Jefferson also scored for the Warriors.
The Tigers gave everything they had to keep the game close, but the early runs by the Warriors proved to be too much.
Coby Smith ripped a triple in a 1-for-2 day and led the Tigers by scoring three runs.
Tanner Smith, Matthew Quimby and Tim Finklea each hit singles and scored one run each.
Tristan McAnally and Scott Brantley scored the other Tiger runs.
