Atmore Motocross (MX) Park continues its 2008 Summer Sizzler with the third event of the summer season.
July 13 Atmore MX will host a military appreciation event to honor the men and women in the United States Armed Forces.
Track promoter Stephen Hicks said this is the first time Atmore has done military appreciation and the owner Bobby Hadley enjoys giving back to the community and this is one more way he is able to do that.
Atmore MX Park expects 150 riders this weekend and several of those riders are preparing for the nationals that will take place in Ponca City, Okla. and Hurricane Hills, Tenn.
Riders will be able to participate in organized practice beginning Saturday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Racing begins Sunday at 9:30 a.m. with hot laps and the features of each class after that.
A church service provided by Racers for Christ will be performed at 8 a.m. Sunday morning.
Hicks said that four $50 gas give-a-ways will be held as well as T-shirt give-a-ways.
He added that any driver who races in three classes and wins will be given back their registration fee.
Free admission will be granted to any active, reserve, retired and guard personnel, but they must have their military id present at the front gate.
