The Escambia Academy Cougar field house will sport a new look in a few weeks when all the renovations are completed.
Renovations include new bathrooms, lockers, office, paneling and tile that add a special touch.
Head coach Heath Gibson said the renovations are going as well as can be expected and if possible will be complete by the end of the month.
With that date growing near, Gibson knows it will take a lot of hard work to finish, but said he thinks the work will get done in time.
He added a lot has been done to the field house and with each task that is accomplished things are starting to look good.
One aspect of the field house stands out above everything and gives it a Cougar feel, according to Gibson.
Gibson said some of the tile has been completed and was like a puzzle to put together.
He added that it is his favorite part of the renovation.
EA has also added new sod to their football field and will hopefully have it ready for the wear and tear of football by the first practice.
Gibson said he spoke with some other coaches about doing the grass for the field and they gave him some good advice.
He added that at this point the grass has taken over and the weeds on the field will be sprayed soon.
