Atmore resident Johnnie Wayne Powell, 50, was fatally injured in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday night.
According to Alabama Department of Public Safety spokesperson Doris Teague, the accident occurred on County Road 1, six miles north of Atmore.
Powell was driving a 1997 Jeep.
Jeremy Robert Hall, 27, of Atmore was also injured. Hall was traveling in a 2005 Chevrolet PK.
Both men were taken to Atmore Community Hospital.

The accident is under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
