Kids have sports, toys, video games and tons of other stuff they can play to stay active and healthy.
Seniors have activities that help them stay active and fit also, but their options are different.
Atmore resident Goldie Morris said she does several things to stay healthy and has been active all her life.
Fishing and hunting were her favorite things to do while she was married and she said she still goes fishing sometimes.
Morris said her husband took her dove and turkey hunting and loved how peaceful it is on a hunt.
She added that fishing trips were fun and she has been to several rivers and caught all types of fish.
These days Morris spends a lot of time at the Atmore SAIL Center and enjoys exercising.
She said there is an exercise machine she uses every time she visits and it keeps her in shape.
She added when she is not exercising, she enjoys dancing at the American Legion.
Another Atmore resident and frequent SAIL Center visitor, Cecil Ellis, keeps active differently than Morris.
Ellis said he visits the SAIL Center every day and enjoys playing games with his friends.
He added that they have a routine of the things they do during the day.
They play all different types of pool whether it is 8-ball, 9-ball or cutthroat, according to Ellis.
He said that cut throat is a fun and difficult game because it requires three players.
When he is not visiting the SAIL Center, Ellis likes to watch sports on TV and enjoys Alabama or Auburn football.
He said that he prefers Alabama, but pulls for Auburn since they are an in-state teams.
He added that he also enjoys walking his dog, Ben, which is a West Highland terrier.
