ATMORE - Kathy Lee Allison, 53, of Atmore died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008 in Baldwin County. She was director of economic development with the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, born in Atmore on April 23, 1955 to the late Elbert Audrey Allison and Carolyn Smith Allison Lassiter. She was closely involved with her co-workers with the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.
Survivors include, a special friend, Gary Wood of Atmore; one son, Donald Ray Jowers; two daughters, Nadia Coker and husband, David and April Dorriety, all of Atmore; two brothers, Wayne Allison of New Port, N.C. and Del Allison of Atmore; one sister, Barbara Hastings and husband, William of Atmore; two aunts, Patsy Gulsby of Atmore and Ellen Smith of Stockbridge, Ga.; five grandchildren, Cassie Jowers, Michael Coker, Noah Coker, Abby Coker and Gracie Dorriety; nieces and nephews, Kenny Kimbler and wife, LaWanda, Christiana Singleton and husband, Keith, Samantha Hastings, Bill Hastings, Brad Hastings, Chelsie Allison, Austin Allison, Wayne Allison Jr. and Taylor Allison; seven great nieces and nephews; other family of Stockbridge, Ga. and the Lassitter families of Atmore.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Davis and Bro. Benny Stokes officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were D.J. Jowers, Kenny Kimbler, Wayne Turner, David Coker, Wayne Allison and Del Allison. Honorary pallbearers were James Wayne Kimbler, Kenny Wayne Kimbler, Michael Coker, Noah Coker, Barry Smith and Larry Smith.
Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
Paula Ann Ferraro Bailey
FRISCO CITY - Mrs. Paula Ann Ferraro Bailey, 45, of Frisco City died Aug. 5, 2008 at USA Medical Center in Mobile.
Mrs. Bailey was born in New York City and lived in Monroe County for the past 33 years. She was a member of Mexia Baptist Church. Mrs. Bailey worked as a clerk at the Community Mart in Mexia.
Her father, Vincent John Ferraro Sr. and her husband, Archie Peacock, preceded her in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Larry Bailey of Frisco City; her mother, Catherine Ferraro of Frisco City; two sons, James Vincent Peacock of Monroeville and Nicholas Edward Peacock of Mexia; one daughter, Andria Donelle Peacock of Monroeville; three brothers, Paul Ferraro of Shirley, Long Island, Michael Ferraro of Frisco City and Vincent John Ferraro Jr. of Frisco City; a sister, Linda Booker of Excel and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008 at Mexia Baptist Church Area 52 Building with the Rev. Lowell Thomas, the Rev. Bill Pruitt and the Rev. Wayne McMillian officiating. Burial followed in Mexia Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8 at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home in Frisco City.
The family is accepting flowers or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society of the Ronald McDonald House, 1626 Springhill Ave., Mobile, AL. 36604.
Ethel Luree Odom Milstead
STOCKTON - Ethel Luree Odom Milstead, 81, of Stockton passed away on Aug. 6, 2008 at a local hospital. Her parents; husband, Otto Milstead and one daughter, Wynell Milstead, preceded her in death.
Survivors include, two sons, Willie Buford Milstead and James Ray Milstead, both of Fairhope; two stepsons, Roy (Lynn) Odom of Fairhope and Edward Eugene (Sandy) Odom of Pensacola, Fla.; four daughters, Ethel Louise (Bill) Gates of Spanish Fort, Luverne (Wayne) Boyington of Bay Minette, Frances (Herchel) Cook of Shubta, Miss. and Laurie Ann Davis of Fairhope; one sister, Mary Alice Odom of Bay Minette; 22 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008 at Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. William Rollin and Sister Marie Ramer officiating. Burial followed in the Milstead and Presley Cemetery in Lottie.
The family received friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, 2008 at Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
