Grace Shivers
BREWTON - Mrs. Grace Shivers, 79, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Shivers was a native of Flomaton, a lifelong resident of Brewton, an avid gardener and homemaker and attended the Sardis Baptist Church.
Her husband, Allie Shivers; three brothers, James Samuel Johnson, David “Dutch” Johnson and Joseph S. Johnson and two sisters, Bethena Chancery and Ema Jean Brock, preceded her in death.
Survivors include, her son, Larry and Cindy Shivers of Pensacola, Fla.; her daughter, Dian and Bob Howell of Jay, Fla.; a granddaughter, Karla Ann Shivers of Pensacola, Fla. and a number of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. James Ivy officiating. Burial followed at Traveler’s Rest Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were, Kenny Shivers, Joe Shivers Jr., Eric Cobb, Sammy Lowery, John West and Charles West.
Teoria “Tee” Mechelle McNeal
ATMORE - Teoria “Tee” Mechelle McNeal was born in Flint, Mich. to Mr. Clinton Felder Jr. and Carlie Maxine McNeal. Teoria joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at an early age. Teoria went with the angels on Aug. 24, 2008.
She leaves to cherish one “Queen” Tenoria McNeal; a loving mother Carlie McNeal; father, Clinton McNeal; three brothers, Antonio McNeal and Timothy Felder, both of Atmore and Tyrone T. Felder of Columbus, Ga.; one sister, Contina M. Felder of Brewton; two grandmothers, Mrs. Dora McNeal and Mrs. Ima Evans ,both of Atmore; one grandfather, Mr. Clinton Felder; three aunts, Ann (Bobby) McNeal, Creashanda McNeal; Annie (Alfonsa) McNeal; three uncles, Willie McNeal of Birmingham, Edgar Henry (Crystal) McNeal of Flint, Mich. and Robert Keith McNeal of Mobile; a host of aunts; cousins; nephews; friends; two very special cousins, Nakita McNeal and Lisa McNeal; a special nephew, Rodney Richardson and with loving memories, Gino, Netto, Sandy, Nessa and one very special friend, Mr. Neal Norman.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 at Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Baptist Church with Freddie D. Banks officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Shiloh cemetery.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
Winford Dewayne Johnson
CENTURY, Fla. - Mr. Winford Dewayne Johnson, 52, passed away on Wed., Aug. 20, 2008 at a Pensacola hospital.
Mr. Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Century, Fla., a retired CSX Railroad employee, a member of the Century Masonic Lodge #213, and attended the Holiness Church.
His father, Winford Allen Johnson; his grandparents, Roy and Estelle Johnson and Rufus and Katie Campbell and a niece, Wendy Land Johnson, preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Dianne C. Johnson of Century, Fla.; three sons, Shawn Dewayne (Michelle) Johnson of Beulah, Fla., Derek Edward (Stephanie) Johnson of Cantonment, Fla. and Justin Charles (Nicole) Johnson of Century, Fla.; two daughters, Rachel Elaine Johnson of Pace, Fla. and Samantha Diana Johnson of Century, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson of Century, Fla.; three brothers, Roy Allen and Wanda Johnson of Century, Fla., Ray and Paula Johnson of Jay, Fla. and Tommy Lee and Angela Johnson of Brewton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Lee Johnson and Bro. Michael Mooney officiating. Burial will follow at McCurdy Cemetery with Masonic services. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Johnson, Derek Johnson, Justin Johnson, Dusty Johnson, Nathan Johnson and Chad Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Johnson, Bradley Johnson and Cody Johnson.
