BRATT, Fla. - Mr. Bernie J. “Gator” Wiggins, 67, passed away on Friday, Sept. 12, 2008 in Century, Fla. Mr. Wiggins was a native and resident of Bratt, Fla., for most of his life and attended the Bratt Assembly of God Church. His parents, Henry and Iva Dell Wiggins; five brothers, Bill Wiggins, Ronnie Wiggins, Sylvester Wiggins, Jerry Wiggins and Jimmy Wiggins and a sister, Dorothy Lloyd, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Florine Wiggins of Bratt, Fla.; his son, David Torrence of Bratt, Fla.; three daughters, Dorothy and Preston Sawyer of Perdido, Darlene Buckhault of Atmore and Carol and Jonathan Nelson of Perdido; 12 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond and JoAnn Wiggins of Byrneville and Buford and Sharon Wiggins of Davisville, Fla. and two sisters, Myrtle and Jim Staff of Atmore and Dianne and Clarence Rolin of Canoe.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Theron Collingsworth officiating. Burial will follow at Godwin Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Simpson, Leslie Barnes, Paul Walston, Richard Vignes, Melvin Lowery and Bobby Waller.
