EA hammers Raiders

The Escambia Academy Cougars went undefeated in a doubleheader against South Montgomery County Academy Thursday afternoon at EA.
The Cougars (5-7, 5-5) won three out of four games in their first match and three out of five in their second match against the Raiders.
EA won their first match with scores of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-19, while losing their second game 13-25. Their second match went to five games with the Cougars winning their three games 25-22, 25-18, 15-5, and losing both games 21-25.
Head coach Keri Payne said the Lady Cougars put up a strong effort despite missing one of their normal starters.
Sophomore Amber Huskey and senior Macey Singleton took charge and led the Cougars to their victories over SMCA.
Huskey finished the afternoon with 11 kills, eight aces, two assists and one dig. Singleton put up a strong performance with 33 assists, five aces, two kills and one dig.
Payne said the Lady Cougars had one of their best performances of the season.
