Northview hopes to keep its playoff hopes alive this week when they travel to take on the Blountstown Tigers.
The Chiefs (2-3, 1-1) are on the tail end of a three-week road trip, which saw them drop two out of three games.
The Tigers (0-5) are a young team, according to Chiefs head coach Cody Keene.
Keene said the record for the Tigers does not say anything because of the schedule they have played.
The Chiefs’ coaching staff is working the defense hard and wants them to make more plays. Last week, the defense gave up more than 500 yards of offense and 34 points.
Keene said the defense should work together as a unit this week to ensure that it is getting the most out of those players. He added that tackling will be focused on this week.
Offensively, the Chiefs put more than 300 total yards last week with 21 points on the scoreboard.
Keene said the production was good and there were enough points on the board, but added work could help raise those numbers.
He added the offense needs to spread the ball around more and make sure not to make any mistakes.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Blountstown High School.
