The Escambia County Blue Devils travel to Citronelle High School this week looking for redemption after falling to Gulf Shores last week.
The Blue Devils (2-5, 1-4) are still in the hunt for the playoffs and could inch closer to a spot if they pick up a win over the Wildcats.
Head coach Kyle Davis said the Wildcats have a strong football program that has been on the rise over the last few weeks.
The Wildcats (4-3, 3-2) are currently third in the Class 5A Region 1 standings, while the Blue Devils sit at seventh.
Davis said Citronelle is not going to be a pushover as they are in the playoffs. He added that if the Blue Devils can secure a win, it would help their chances in the playoffs.
To bring home a win, ECHS will have to step up their play on both sides of the ball, according to Davis.
Davis said the game has added strain because it is on the road. He added that the key to win is better execution.
To counter the powerful ground game, the Blue Devils plan to put more defenders near the line of scrimmage.
Davis said the defense needs to step up and make the tackle whenever possible. He added the key to offensive production is to execute plays better in the first half and continue that into the second half.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Citronelle High School.
