CANTONMENT, Fla. - After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Francine S. Rabon died peacefully surrounded by her family on Oct. 13, 2008.
She was born in Megargel on Oct. 23, 1934. She was retired from the Escambia County Health Department in 1995. After retirement, Francine enjoyed traveling with friends and was actively involved in Red Hats, art classes and Bookmarks Book Club. She loved and enjoyed the friendships and strength she received from her Sunday school group, the Grace Class of Olive Baptist Church.
Her husband, John A. Rabon, parents, M.H. “Cap” and Bessie Skipper; sisters, Mildred Griffin and Doris Holladay and a brother, George Skipper preceded her in death.
She is survived by, her daughters, Susan Lomax (Bret) and Lisa Eddins (Bill), both of Pace, Fla.; grandchildren, Shannon Huilker (Mike) of Ft. Walton Beach. Fla., Ryan Troutman (Ashley) of Pace, Fla., Alisha Wiebe (Jack) of Alberta, Canada and Daniel Faircloth (Sharon) of Walnut Hill, Fla.; great grandson, Gus Huilker of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; sisters, Eleanor Grace (Carmon) of Pensacola, Fla. and Glenna Ganzella (John) of Costa Mess, Calif. and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008 at Faith Chapel North with Pastor Doug Holmes officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, Oct. 15, 2008. Pallbearers will be, Ryan Troutman, Daniel Faircloth, Mike Huilker, Jack Wiebe, Jim Grace and Rick Steele.
Faith Chapel North is in charge of all arrangements.
