ATMORE - Stanley Forney Sr., 57, passed away on Oct. 11, 2008.
Mr. Forney was the son of the late Zeaner and Everline Forney.
Mr. Forney attended Escambia County Training School in Atmore. He later moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and excelled as a brick mason. During his tenure in Ft. Lauderdale he met Lula Mae Royal. They were married on Nov. 3, 1986 and from this union twin boys were born.
His son, Benjamin Forney, preceded him in death.
Mr. Forney leaves to cherish his memories his son, Brendon Forney of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; his daughter, Cassandra Davis and Stanley Forney Jr., both of Pellian, Ga.; seven grandchildren; five sisters; Rolean (Sylvester) Mayfield of Charlotte, N.C., Clara (the late Leo) Bryant of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Aveaner Forney of Bronx, N.Y. and Elizabeth Forney and Joyce Williams, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; brothers, Carthell (Ramona) Forney of Brewton, Gary (Lillian) Forney and Larry (Mechelle) Forney, both of Atmore; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; one aunt, Lucinda Gerrod of Orlando, Fla. and a very special friend whom he loved, Willie.
Stanley touched the lives of all that he encountered. He embraced salvation as God restored his soul. His friends and family will certainly miss him and will never forget him.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008 at Christian Memorial Funeral Chapel of Atmore with Pastor Joe L. Hayes officiating. Interment was held at Stallworth Cemetery in Atmore and repass was held at Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church. Active pallbearers were his nephews and flower bearers were his family and friends.
Arrangements were entrusted to Christian Memorial Funeral Home in Atmore.
