This Tuesday marks the 56th consecutive quadrennial U.S. Presidential election, and record numbers of voters are expected to cast ballots.
Escambia County Probate Judge Emilie Mims stated the increased voter registration in the past couple of months as well as a large number of absentee votes received by the Circuit Clerk are indicative of this.
Mims said election officials are working hard to ensure the voting process goes smoothly.
Due to the expected large turnout, the wait time for voting may increase as well.
On all U.S. ballots there will be five presidential nominees and their running mates. They are, as shown in order on the ballot, Barack Obama and Joe Biden (D), John McCain and Sarah Palin (R), Chuck Baldwin and Darrell L. Mims also gave information regarding the voting process.
