The Northview Lady Chiefs participated in a preseason classic at Central High School last week and finished 1-1 with a victory over Pensacola Christian Academy and a loss to the Jay Royals.
In their first game, the Lady Chiefs fell to the Royals 41-34, but posted a strong comeback in the second half after being down 25-9 at halftime.
Lady Chiefs head coach Obreonne Parker-Smith said the girls fell behind because they were still readjusting to playing basketball. She added that at halftime adjustments were made so the team could gain a basketball mindset.
In their second game, the Lady Chiefs bounced back and crushed Pensacola Christian Academy 57-10.
Parker-Smith said the team’s execution and desire was much better in the second game. She added that they used more of their skills to defeat PCA.
