Lady Chiefs fall short 41-32

Northview’s Lady Chiefs dropped a tough game to the Walton Lady Braves 41-32 on Tuesday night at Northview High School.
Lady Chiefs head coach Obreonne Parker-Smith said her team played well against a tough opponent, but could not overcome the deficit.
The Lady Chiefs were led by forwards Angela Rodriguez and Gabe Wesley, who each scored 10 points in the loss.
Lady Chiefs guards Brittney Thompson and Shaniqua Jones scored five points apiece. Thompson left the game in the first quarter with an injury, which put the Lady Chiefs with a disadvantage in depth.
Parker-Smith said losing a player like Thompson is difficult, but added that other players stepped up in her loss.
Northview guard Shakeria White scored two points for the Lady Chiefs.
The Lady Chiefs next game is Dec. 15 in the Jay Christmas Tournament in Jay, Fla.

Lady Chiefs 36
The Blue Eagles of W.S. Neal invaded Northview High School Monday night and narrowly defeated the Lady Chiefs 41-36.
The Lady Chiefs were led by forward Gabe Wesley’s 16 points and one steal. Lady Chiefs guard Brittney Thompson supported Wesley with eight points in the game. Thompson also dished out one assist and pulled down two rebounds.
Lady Chiefs head coach Obreonne Parker-Smith said Wesley and Thompson did a good job of leading the team against Neal. She added that all players put forth a strong effort.
Lady Chiefs guard Shaniqua Jones added four points for Northview, while serving up four assists to her teammates and pulling in three boards.
Northview forwards Angela Rodriguez and Timeka Marshall each scored four points for the Lady Chiefs in the loss. Marshall also had one rebound and one assist.
Parker-Smith said her team is looking to improve their free throws and overall shooting percentage.

The Lady Chiefs of Northview were crushed 55-24 by the South Walton Lady Seahawks last Friday night at Northview.
Lady Chiefs forward Gabe Wesley led the Lady Chiefs with 10 points in the loss. Wesley also had one assist and shot a team high 33 percent from the field.
Forward Timeka Marshall put up six points in the game and added one steal and one rebound for the Lady Chiefs. Forward Angela Rodriguez scored four points for the Lady Chiefs.
Northview guards Brittney Thompson and Shaniqua Jones scored two points a piece for the Lady Chiefs. Jones finished the game with four rebounds, while Thompson had three rebounds and one assist.
