ATMORE - Christopher Blake Smith, 16, born in Bay Minette and a resident of Atmore died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009 at U.S.A. Medical Center in Mobile.
He loved baseball, hunting and fishing but his passion was his black Silverado pickup and his friends.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Cheryl Boyington and Brian Tuberville of Atmore; his father and stepmother, Ronnie Wayne and Patricia Smith of Stapleton; his brother, Kyle Boyington of Perdido; his sister, Ashleigh Boyington of Bay Minette; his stepbrother, Randy Thomas of Stapleton; his stepsisters, Christi Thompson of Perdido and Jennifer Thompson of Bay Minette; his grandparents, Ann and Buck Shehan of Rabun and Kathleen Smith of Stapleton; his great grandmothers, Florence Palmer of Port Richy, Fla. and Linda Rollin of Bay Minette. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Eugene Sanks and Clinton Smith.
The funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Sister Helen Stewart, Chaplain Ron Pierce and the Rev. Ben Ragsdale officiating. Interment followed at McCullough cemetery. The visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2009.
Although the family will accept flowers they suggest donations be made to Bay Minette Youth Baseball, P.O. Box 33, C/O Kelly Aaron Bay Minette Alabama 36507. Active pallbearers were, Ryan Hyatt, Jerome Odom, Jeffery Parker, Chad Lambeth, Don Presley, Ricky Byrd, Heath Jaye and Ben Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were, Jake Bryars. Colton Grimes, Colton Hicks, Daniel Swartz, John Michael Smith, Justin Davis, Colby Crane, the Bay Minette Babe Ruth All-Star Team and Braves Baseball Team.
