STOCKTON - Mr. Arthur White, 86, born in Perdido to Walter and Clara (King) White and a resident of Stockton died Monday, Jan.19, 2009 at his residence.
He was a self employed carpenter and farmer. Mr. White was a veteran of WWII serving with the Army Air Corp. and he was a member of White/Lee Chapter D.A.V.
He is survived by, his sons, David Allen White and Johnny White, both of Stockton; his brother, Bernard White of Perdido; his grandchildren, Regina Godwin, Allen White, Melinda Jackson, Larry White, Kimberly White and Jason White and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Mae White; his granddaughter, April White and his great grandson, Joshua White.
The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009 at the Pleasant Plains Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Sister Thursia Long and the Rev. James Peacock officiating. Interment will follow at Bryars McGill cemetery. The visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today, Jan. 21, 2009.
Pallbearers are Allen White, Aaron Godwin, Wesley Jackson, Donnie White, Wayne Ganey and Norris Hall. Honorary pallbearers are the member of the Rabun Volunteer Fire Department.
