ATMORE - Mrs. Margaret Johnson Lyons, 67, of Atmore died on Jan. 31, 2009 at her sister’s residence in Pensacola after and illness.
She was a native of Atmore and was a graduate of Escambia County Training School in 1959. She had lived in Chicago, Ill. and has worked as a bar tender.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Lela Johnson; two sisters, Annie Melvin and Willie Neal Lee; three brothers, Andrew, Narvie and Warnell Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, Chester Lyons, Jr. of Atmore; a son, Dwaun (Cynthia) Johnson of Slidell, La.; three sisters, Lillian Charles of Chicago, Ill., Lois Caldwell and Eunice (Clyde) Bolling of Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers, Walter (Johnnie Mae) Johnson of Rock Island, Ill. and Ledell (Gloria) Johnson Sr. of Atmore; two granddaughters, Candice and Crystall Johnson of Slidell, La.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 at the Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church on Hwy. 21 with the Rev. Wayne Johnson, eulogist, and the Rev. Freddie Banks, pastor. Interment will be in the Stallworth cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC directing.
