FRISCO CITY - Mr. Dale Wendall Jay, 61, of Frisco City died Feb. 9, 2009 in Monroe County Hospital.
Mr. Jay was a lifelong resident of Monroe County and lived in Frisco City. He graduated from J.U. Blacksher High School and Jeff Davis Technical School. He was an employee with Vanity Fair for 43 years in the Maintenance and Transportation Department. He attended Woodlawn Methodist Church and enjoyed being a part of the gospel singing group, Grateful Heart. Dale enjoyed his life in the country and driving his tractors.
Survivors include, his wife, Brenda E. Jay of Frisco City; his daughters, Wendy (Chad) Haygens of Prattville and Cristie (David) Williams of Montgomery; his step daughter, Kathy (Tony) Dobbs of Montgomery; his parents, Calvin and Doris Jay of Rocky Hill; his sister, Cornelia (Wayne) Presley of Lottie; his brothers, Gerald Jay of Chunchula, Gene (Elaine) Jay of Rocky Hill, Phillip (Brenda) Jay of the Chrysler Community and Dink (Ellen) Jay of Rocky Hill; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Feb. 11, 2009 at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Johnson and the Rev. Thomas Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Union cemetery in Frisco City. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009 at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home.
