ATMORE - Miss LaQuinta S. Bowens, 12, a resident of Lakeland, Ga. formerly of Atmore died Feb. 4, 2009 in a house fire in Lakeland. She was a 7th grade student at Lanier Co. (Ga.) Middle School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marilyn Bowens and Robert Watts and her grandparents, Alford and Ethel Bowens.
Those left to cherish her memories are her legal guardian/adopted mother, Gladys Howard of Atmore, her step father, Clifford Howard of Waynesboro, Miss.; two sisters, Angela (Randy Jr.) Johnson of Atmore and Kyaria Howard of Waynesboro, Miss.; one brother, Douglas Oliver of Atmore; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009 at the Mt. Gillead Baptist Church in Atmore (Freemanville Community) with the Rev. Robert Davis, Pastor and the Rev. Willie Roberson of Lakeland, Ga. eulogist. Interment will be held in Mt. Shiloh Church cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC directing.
