ATMORE - Mr. Charles Bullard Sr. 72, of Atmore died on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009 at Atmore Community Hospital.
Mr. Bullard was a native of Monroe County and had lived in Atmore for most his life. He was a retired truck driver with Atmore Ready Mix Concrete Company and was a member and deacon at the New Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Atmore.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Bullard Sr. and one sister, Ella Lee.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Bullard of Atmore; seven daughters, Ophelia (Terry) Boyd of Long Beach, Calif., Sophia (Tony) Williams of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mattie (Othir) Brister of St. Albans, N.Y., Cynthia (Brian) Scales of Antioch, Tenn., Paula (Reginald) Adams of Atmore, Diana (Bubba) Pyatt of Daleville and Sandra Lawson of Baytown, Texas; three sons, Terry (Charlotte) Bullard of Brooklyn, N.Y., Charles (Vanessa) Bullard Jr. of Frisco City and James (Wanda) Bullard of Loxley; three sisters, Dorothy Lee and Odessa Lee, both of Atmore and Bertha Walden of Clearwater, Fla.; two brothers, James Bullard of Alpharetta, Ga. and Sylvester Bullard Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; his mother, Elizabeth Bullard of Atmore and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009 at the Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore with the Rev. Harold Askew, pastor of the New Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church officiating and the Rev. Willie Hawthorne, host pastor. Interment will be held in the Fairview cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC of Atmore directing.
