ATMORE - Mr. Richard Charles Rathsack, born Feb. 19, 1942 in Manitowoe, Wisc. was called home to be with the Lord on Feb. 27, 2009 in Mobile.
He was a resident of Atmore since 1973 and a member of Canaan Free Will Baptist Church. He was a truck driver for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Rathsack and Clara Belle Liddle Rathsack; a son, Ricky Rathsack; a brother, Walter Rathsack and a sister, Walene Ross.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 46 years, Judy Rathsack of Atmore; a daughter, Susan (Jeff) Gunn of Goodway; three granddaughters, Nikki (Currie) McMullen of Huxford, Katie (Jason) Clay of Byrneville, Fla. and Kayla Gunn of Goodway; three great grandchildren, Madison McMullen, Gracie Clay and Jason Clay; brothers, Michael (Pat) Rathsack of Flatwoods, Ky., Joe Rathsack of Juda, Wisc.; a sister, Kathryn Blain of Manitowac, Wisc. and a host of in-laws and friends too numerous to mention by name but too special to not mention at all.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Pastor Clyde Bruley officiating. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, March 1 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were, Terry Elkins, Matthew Lawson, Currie McMullen, Jeff Gunn, Wayne Williams, Clennon Williams, Josh Husband, Joseph Husband, Don Little, Johnny Grissett and Donnie Grissett.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Atmore Community Hospital, Mobile Infirmary Medical Center and his nurse Cindy Drummond RN, Atmore Family Physicians, Cardiology Associates and Kelley’s Ambulance Service.
