Grady Carlton “Coot” Sims

MCDAVID, Fla. - Mr. Grady Carlton “Coot” Sims, 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at a Santa Rosa hospital.
Coot was a native of McDavid, Fla., a resident of Century, Fla. since 1970 and he loved his grandchildren, great grandchildren and the outdoors. He was a retired employee from Campbell Sand and Gravel Company after 30 years and attended the Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include, his wife, Martha Ikner Sims of Century, Fla.; a son, Randy and Nathalie Ikner of Elizabeth Town, Ky.; a daughter, Ann and Regie Burkett of Century, Fla.; six grandchildren, Casey and Stephen Roach, Ryan Burkett, DeAnn Ikner, Tiffany and Eric Rydowski, Jessica and Billy Adams and James Ikner; six great grandchildren, a brother, Doug Sims of Andalusia and three sisters, Helen Corley of Gonzalez, Fla., Luverne Griffin of Myrtle Grove, Fla. and Carrie Drouin of Williamatic, Conn.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Shelton Kindig and the Rev. Ronald Broadhead officiating. Burial will follow at the Beulah Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today, March 8, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Burkett, Stephen Roach, Donnie Waters, Joe Way, Gary Johnson and Arnold Burkett. Honorary pallbearers will be, Melvin Johnson, John White, James Campbell, August Pace, Charlie Brown, Wayne Sims, Billy Campbell, Ronnie Sims, Lavon Little and John Elton Killam.
