Northview swept Cottage Hill in a doubleheader on Thursday at Northview, winning the second game 7-5 after beating the Warriors 6-4 in the first game.
The Chiefs (6-2) handled the Warriors early in the contest as they managed to strike quickly in the first inning when Dabney Langhorne crossed the plate after Dakota Stuckey slapped an RBI-double into plate. Langhorne finished the game 1-for-2 with a single, an RBI and a run scored. Stuckey went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, single and an RBI.
Northview added to their lead in the third inning when Patrick McPherson, Scooter Hamilton and Langhorne all scored runs. McPherson scored after Brad Foster hit a sacrifice fly to right field, while Hamilton made it home when Langhorne hit an RBI-single. Langhorne advanced on a Stuckey single, and he scored on a fielder’s choice by Austin Reid to make the score 4-0 in favor of the home team.
McPherson finished the game 1-for-1 with a single and a run scored, Hamilton went 2-for-2 in the game with two singles, two walks, a run scored and an RBI and Foster hit 1-for-3 with an RBI.
The Chiefs took their lead to six-runs in the fourth inning as Austin Arrington and McPherson each crossed home. They each score on Hamilton’s single. Arrington hit 1-fo-3 in the match up with two runs scored.
Cottage Hill flipped on the switch in the top of the sixth inning as they scored four runs to close the gap between the two squads.
The Chiefs kept their cool in the home half of the sixth inning as they added one run with Arrington scoring his second run of the game.
The Warriors hung on in the top of the seventh adding one run, but could not get any more men across home to give the Chiefs their sixth win of the season.
Northview pitcher Brad Lowery picked up the win striking out six and walking just four Warriors’ batters. He also went 2-for-3 with a double and a single.

The Chiefs battled back from a two-run deficit to defeat the Cottage Hill Warriors 6-4 in the opening game of the doubleheader in Bratt, Fla. on Thursday.
Northview scored three runs in the fourth and fifth innings to pick up the win against the visiting team from Mobile.
The Chiefs (5-2) struggled to get players on the base path in the first three innings with only one batter reaching base on a walk.
Heading into the fourth inning the Warriors led the Chiefs 2-0, but Northview’s offense would come to life with Dabney Langhorne, Dakota Stuckey and Austin Reid all scoring runs. Langhorne and Stuckey reached base on walks, and were advanced by Reid’s single. Langhorne was hitless on the day with four walks, two runs scored and a stolen base in the win, while Stuckey was 0-for-2 with two walks and a run scored. Reid went 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and three RBI.
The Chiefs added their final three runs to the scoreboard in the fifth inning as Langhorne, Reid and Austin Lowery crossing the plate. Langhorne scored on Reid’s single, while Reid scored on an error by the third baseman. Lowery made it around the bases when Austin Arrington ripped a double into the outfield. Lowery finished the game 1-for-3 with a run scored, and Arrington went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Brad Foster started the game for the Chiefs picking up the win with six strikeouts.
