A loss is never easy

It is hard losing someone that you care about no matter what the circumstance.
It is even worse when you that person that is taken away from you was so young and still had so much life to experience.
In an unfortunate turn of events, a young man from Brewton died in a motorcycle accident on Hwy. 31 sometime between Friday night and Sunday afternoon.
Bobby Freeman was only 19-years-old and just more than a year graduated from W.S. Neal High School where he was a good student and superb football player.
Condolences go out to his family for this tragic time that they are going through right now.
It is never easy to call the family of someone who has been taken from this world for one reason or another, but it is something that comes with the territory of this job.
My counterparts and I here at the Advance never mean any harm when we call to find out about the loved one that you recently lost.
All families react different to our phone calls with some guarded and others ready and willing to speak on how wonderful that person was.
My first experience with this situation came last summer when I spoke with former Flomaton High School football player Sam Collins’ mother, Marion.
Ms. Collins was as nice and composed as she could be when we spoke on the phone.
We spoke for about 30 minutes and she told me about Sam, who he was and how he had just begun his time on the campus of Huntingdon College.
The Freeman family was also nice enough to speak with me even though they were still coping with the loss of their beloved son and brother.
Again, I send my heart to them for the loss they have to bear, and I hope I was cordial to them during this time.
I can only hope that in a time of terrible circumstances like those that the Freeman, Collins and other families have gone through lately that I would have that strength as they have to tell the story of the person I lost.
