The Atmore Area YMCA board of directors approved the construction of a storage building to the grounds at its meeting last month.
The storage building that will include a gazebo with picnic tables and chairs is soon to be erected behind the Atmore Area YMCA where the old field house stood before being torn down last fall.
Atmore YMCA executive director Tammy Graham said the field house is being torn by the city helped pave the way for the building to be constructed.
Huskey Construction will build the storage shed that will hold the soccer goals and nets.
Graham said the money allocated by their donors is the reason the shed is getting the go-ahead to be built. She added construction will begin this week or next week.
Also as a part of the construction of the building a cover will be added as well, which will serve as a gazebo for the community to use.
Graham said the gazebo will be built on the side closest to the basketball goals.
In the future, Graham said the YMCA would like to add on to the gazebo portion of the building as well as improve the conditions in the area concerning the basketball goals.
