The Escambia County Sheriff's Office along with the Atmore Police Department apprehended a man for stealing a Jeep Cherokee at approximately 5:15 p.m. Sunday. The man was picked up at Truth Circle in Freemanville.
According to law enforcement officers at the scene, residents on the street called to report that they had the car blocked in with the man in it.
When officers arrived at the scene, the man had fled into the neighbor's yard where he hid in bushes. Officers then had to taze him when he would not come out of the bushes.
He was taken into custody by the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.
