The Utilities Board of the City of Atmore will be honored with the Silver Risk Management Award at the Alabama League of Municipalities (ALM) 2009 Annual Convention on May 5 in Montgomery.
The Risk Management Award is presented to municipalities that minimize property and employee losses.
According to a press release from the Utilities Board, the award was established in 2002 by the Boards of Directors of the ALM’s insurance programs, which are the Municipal Workers Compensation Fund and the Alabama Municipal Insurance Corporation.
Tom Wolfe, manager of the Utilities Board of the City of Atmore, said the department is pleased with receiving the award.
To make sure that they continue to operate without errors and injury the department is continuing to operate with its incentives in place.
Wolfe said the well-being of employees and making sure there are no problems is the focus.
