A golf tournament in memorial of a parent will be held by Atmore Christian School on April 25 to help benefit the school and give golfers a day of fun on the greens and fairways.
The K.C. Monroe Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled to be held next Saturday at the Dogwood Hills Golf Course in Brewton.
Atmore Christian School headmaster Tim Battles said the tournament is held in remembrance of Monroe who was a parent and husband of an ACS employee.
Battles said that Monroe’s passing came on unexpectedly.
Battles said the proceeds raised through the tournament helps fund the school.
The tournament will be a four-man scramble with the registration fee at $160 per team.
As a part of the tournament there will be prizes awarded to the Top 3 teams as well as an award for closest to the pin and longest drive.
Battles said the prizes are selected by the school’s board members. He added that for the closest to the pin and longest drive you do not have to be skilled.
ACS is also taking hole sponsors for each of the holes on the course with a sponsorship costing $100 per hole.
The tournament is still taking sign ups from teams that are interested in playing.
Battles said teams are still being pursued with his own team still looking for players.
Tee off for the K.C. Monroe Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for 8 a.m.
