ATMORE - Mr. James Russell Hayes, 53, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at a Mobile hospital.
Russell was a native of Pensacola, Fla., a resident of Atmore for most of his life; he was retired from Harold Allen Mobile Homes, was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman and attended the Baptist church. He loved his children and grandchildren and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie T. Pugh.
Survivors include, his wife Tracy Hayes of Atmore; his son, Michael Sean Hayes of Atmore; his daughter, Brenna Hayes of Atmore; four grandchildren, Shashaona Lee Hayes, Hazel Marie Hayes, Joseph Michael Hayes and Rihanna Renee Williams; his mother, Lois Rackard Amos of Atmore; three sisters, Joyce and Glynn Hall of Bratt, Fla., Debbie and Barry Westbrooks of Statesboro, Ga. and Donna and Peter Lord of Foley and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Grindle officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until funeral time at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be, Mark Allen, Michael Hayes, Jeremy Byrd, Ardis Rolin, Brent Pugh and Ronnie Rolin.
