BAY MINETTE - Mr. Howard Hastings Sr. 72, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009 in Bay Minette.
Mr. Hastings was a native and resident of Bay Minette for most of his life. He attended the Southside Baptist Church. He was a Vietnam Veteran, received the Silver Star and Sharp Shooter.
Survivors include, his wife, Willodean Hastings of Bay Minette; three sons, Howard Hastings Jr. of Ohio, Guy Hastings of Maine and Russell Hastings of Massachusetts; two daughters, Chantel Hastings of South Bridge, Mass. and Andrea Hastings of Columbus, Ga.; step-daughter, Dena Stabler of Bay Minette; one brother, Ronald Hastings of Dover, Del.; two sisters, Lois Chancery of Perdido and Glenda Hastings of Pine Grove and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. today, May 5, 2009 at Bay Minette cemetery with the Rev. Larry Patterson officiating. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be VFW.
