Norman Ramer

GADSDEN - Mr. Norman Ramer, 77, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009 in Gadsden.
Norman was a native of Perdido, a resident of Glencoe since 1979 and attended the Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Goodyear Tire Company after 24 years, and a member of local #12 Tire and Rubber Union, a loving husband, father, grandfather and an avid hunter and fisherman. The family would like to give special thanks to Southern Care Hospice, Riverview Medical Center’s 6th floor staff and to Bo Chambers.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Eloise Ramer of Glencoe; three sons, Eddie E. and Edna Ramer of Attalla, Wendell Ramer of Glencoe and Clint and Susan Ramer of Glencoe; a daughter, Tammy and Phillip Watson of Glencoe eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; six brothers, Aubrey Ramer of Attapulgus, Ga., Curtis Ramer of Tuscaloosa, Robert Ramer of Bay Minette, Willie Ramer of Rabon, Arthur Ramer of Atmore and Vernon Ramer of Perdido and two sisters, Vertis Davison of Bay Minette and Eula Lynn of Atmore.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Marty Gehman officiating. Burial followed at Bryars-McGill cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers were, Jimmy Ramer, Jamie Ramer, Johnny Ramer, Willard Hill, Allen Turner, Olan Albritton, Tim Albritton and Jeffrey McVey.
