Cougar fans will be able sit more comfortably next football season thanks to some much-needed repairs.
According to Escambia Academy board president Chris Kirk, work recently began on renovating the home side bleachers at Bachelor Field.
Kirk said the bleachers were aging and were in dire need of replacing.
The Cougars football team began spring training on April 28 in preparation for the upcoming season. Following an 0-11 season last year, head coach Heath Gibson said he was sticking to the basics.
Despite a dismal year last year, Gibson said his players have been very receptive.
According to Kirk, the Cougars will not have the opportunity to compete in a spring game this year due to some scheduling conflicts.
The football team will begin summer workouts immediately following graduation and continue until summer drills begin.
