BAY MINETTE - Mr. Leon Griffin, 68, of Bay Minette died on Friday, May 8, 2009 (one day before his 69th birthday) at his residence. He was a native of Stockton and had lived in Bay Minette for many years. He had attended the Vaughn School in Stockton and was a retired laborer with the Newport Chemical Company in Bay Minette.
His parents, Eugene and Eloise Griffin; three sisters, Emma Harvey, Mary Dunson and Ida Griffin and one brother, Harris Lee Griffin, preceded him in death.
Those left to cherish his memories are one sister, Mable L. Griffin of Bay Minette and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Morning Dove Baptist Church in Perdido with the Rev. Stanley Cox officiating. Interment will be held in the Robinson Cemetery in Stockton. Public viewing will be held from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2009 at the funeral home and his body will lie instate at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
