ATMORE - Mrs. Shelia Ann Walker-Hill, 50, of Atmore died on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Mobile Infirmary. She was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore. She was a 1978 graduate of Escambia County High School and a member of the Jones Street True Pentecostal Holiness Church in Atmore. She was a housewife, homemaker and had worked with Home Interiors.
Her daughter, Melissa Walker; her mother, Essie Lee Canada; her father, Sanders Johnson; a sister, Carolyn “Peanut” Currie and two brothers, Eddie Lee Johnson and James Zel Johnson preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Kenneth Hill of Atmore; one daughter, Tanisha D. Hill of Atmore; two sons, Willie F. Walker of Marion and Kelvin Hill of Atmore; five sisters, Brenda Walker, Ester Jett, Marva Russell and Clara Gulley, all of Atmore and Darnell Nichols of Birmingham; six brothers, Larry Walker of Flomaton, Eric Canada of Birmingham, Willie Elbert Johnson and Jermaine Watson, both of Atmore and Clifford Daniel Johnson and John Henry Johnson, both of Detroit, Mich. and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Jones Street True Pentecostal Holiness Church with Bishop Willie L. Williams, founder/pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in the Fairview Cemetery. Public viewing will be held from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2009 at the funeral home and her body will lie instate at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
