The local Red Cross chapter is still up and running despite a recent forced move from their offices on Ridgeley Street.
The Red Cross previously shared the building with two other non-profits.
The Red Cross is now temporarily located at the Escambia County Publishing Inc. offices at 205 E. Church St. thanks to Angela Burgess, publisher of the Escambia Real Estate Guide.
Hackman said she was appreciative of the help offered from the city.
While a move was not ideal, Hackman said there was never concern that Red Cross services would not still be available to the community.
And, in spite of moving, the Red Cross is still working to raise money for their HEROES campaign, an annual fundraiser.
There are four gift baskets located at Walgreens up for silent auction and three others, one each at David’s Catfish House, Gregg’s Salon and Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union, up for drawing for a $1 per ticket.
The baskets are available for a limited time and include various items, with each basket having a theme.
Southwest Alabama Mental Health was unavailable for comment at press time.
