An Atmore man was shot twice in the legs Saturday morning in his home at McRae Apartments and the men suspected of pulling the trigger remain on the run today.
According to a press release issued by the Atmore Police Department, the home invasion and shooting occurred around 11:30 a.m. when two black males forced their way into the apartment shared by the victim and his family.
The man’s family was told to go into another room while the victim was forced at gunpoint to lie on the ground. The suspects bound the victim and shot him twice in the legs. He also suffered a blunt force injury to the head.
The suspects fled the scene in a silver-colored car with tinted windows.
Several agencies, including the Poarch Tribal Police Department, assisted in the search for the suspects.
