Charles “Cliff” Frazier

ATMORE - Mr. Charles “Cliff” Frazier, 93, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at a Pensacola hospital.
Cliff was a native of Evergreen, and a resident of Atmore for the past 78 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, a member of the American Legion, active in the VFW, instrumental in getting the National Guard Armory in Atmore, and was very civic minded. He was a member of the Rotary Club, a clerk in the Many Men’s Dry Good’s Store, a retired building inspector for the City of Atmore, and attended the First Baptist Church.
His daughter, Marilyn Frazier Weir preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his wife of 69 years, Gladys Wise Frazier of Atmore; two sons, Charles and Patsy Frazier of Evergreen and Gary Michael and Paula Frazier of Weehawken of N.J.; eight grandchildren, Steven Weir of Jacksonville, Fla., Sandra Yacavonne of Jacksonville, Fla. Darren Frazier of Morgantown, W. Va., Kimberly Newman of Guntersville; Charles Christopher Frazier of Cheyenne, Wy., Mason Frazier of Anniston, Martha Frazier of Weehawken, N.J. and Jill Mize of Spanish Fort; 16 great grandchildren, Ryan Weir, Aiden Weir, Nicholas Yacavonne, Anthony Yacavonne, Jareth Frazier, Eowyn Frazier, Chelsea Jordan, Emily Jordan, Lindsay Newman, Adam Newman, Jasmine Frazier, Anna Warner, Olivia Frazier, Anna Beth Frazier, Alex Wolfe and Elizabeth Arnot and a devoted caregiver, Toni Diane Boutwell.
Funeral services will be held at noon today, June 17, 1009 at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating and Petty Funeral Homes, LLC. Directing. Burial will follow at Oak Hill cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until funeral time today, June 17, 2009 at the First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be, Darren Frazier, Chris Frazier, Mason Frazier, Mike Newman, Adam Newman, Henry Lowery, Nicholas Yacavonne, Steven Weir and Walter Baudier. Honorary pallbearers will be the VFW.
