An Atmore man was charged in a domestic violence incident Monday, and sheriff’s deputies found several weapons in his possession, officials said.
Aubrey Peacock, 57, of 9549 Robinsonville Road, Atmore, was charged with domestic violence harassment/assault/menacing, third degree and unlawful possession of a short barrel shotgun.
A consolidation bond on the three domestic violence charges was $10,000 and the possession charges bond was $10,000.
He was released under those bonds with certain conditions.
Lambert said Peacock’s wife reported July 3 that she had been assaulted.
In another report two days later, she said he assaulted her again, telling deputies that Peacock held her at gunpoint while holding his grandchild.
She signed warrants on Monday, and deputies met Peacock at his workplace to pick him up. They discovered he had several powerful weapons in his vehicle. Peacock’s wife also filed a report that there were weapons in the residence.
After obtaining a search warrant, deputies searched the residence and found what Lambert described as “a large number of firearms,” including the short barrel shotgun.
The case is still under investigation and more charges may be pending.
Brewton woman arrested on charge of attempted murder

A Brewton man is "lucky" despite being shot in the back by a woman over the Fourth of July weekend, sheriff's officials said.
Deputies found Memphis Shane Riddle, 38, lying on the floor of a residence when they responded to a 911 call at about 11 p.m. Sunday at 43275 U.S. 31 North, said Chief Deputy Mike Lambert.
Riddle told deputies he had returned to his residence that night after riding horses and found Robin Lambeth, 35, of 6924 Appleton Road, at his home.
An altercation occurred, and he told deputies Lambeth shot him in the back with a shotgun found at the scene.
"The two of them had an on and off relationship," Lambert said. "He is a lucky man. The gun had bird shot in it, and it entered his back at an angle, just enough not to hit any vital organs. We were still able to see the wadding where it entered his back."
Riddle was transported to D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital and held overnight for treatment, Lambert said.
Lambeth left the scene but turned herself in later, Lambert said.
She has been charged with attempted murder and domestic violence assault, first degree. She is currently being held in the Escambia County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.
