A small taste of freedom may not have been worth it to Terrell Bernard Benson, who escaped from authorities on Wednesday, authorities said.
Escambia County Sheriff Grover Smith said Benson, 24, of Bryant Circle in Brewton, was being taken by deputies to the Escambia County Courthouse for a bond hearing when he made his escape.
Benson was captured within 30 minutes and now has additional charges against him, Smith said.
Benson originally had been charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree assault and was being held on a $50,000 bond.
Additional charges are third-degree escape and violation of parole/probation, with an additional $50,000 bond.
He is also being held for the East Brewton Police Department on a charge of third-degree theft of property.
