Volleyballs were flying Thursday as the Northview Lady Chiefs took the floor of the Northview gymnasium in preparation for their Pre-season Classic, which will be held Aug. 27 at Northview.
This year’s varsity squad boasts 10 returning players with 9 players on the junior varsity squad.
Lady Chiefs head coach Betty Heaton said practices have been going well for her team, but she is still getting new players adjusted.
With so many returning players to the varsity squad, the Lady Chiefs should be able to compete in all of their games.
Heaton said the squad should have a strong season especially after dropping a level in district play.
In preparing for their first game, the Lady Chiefs are working on basics to make sure they are on point.
Heaton said working on the fundamentals is just as important as more complex plays.
