For more than a decade, Martin Construction has had a dream of changing the skyline of the community they serve. With years of service to the Atmore and Poarch communities including involvement in the construction at Wind Creek Casino &Hotel, that dream has been realized.
Bringing some of their good fortune back to Atmore will be another dream come true when they become permanent residents downtown.
In a little more than a month, Martin Construction Inc. will move its operations from 3480 Hwy. 21 to 110 W. Louisville Ave.
James Hosman, chief operating officer for Martin Construction, said the move is being made to become more visible to the community and to help the downtown get its luster back.
The new building, which is being shared with F.S. Advisors, who have rented out a portion of the building, will serve for the day-to-day operations. Martin Construction is also in the process of building a warehouse next door to its previous location that will house all of the company’s equipment.
Hosman said the company works mainly in commercial construction, but added the firm have done residential work in the past.
Hosman said Martin Construction wants to be involved in the community.
